RIDERS FROM THE NORTH:

We supported a number of riders based in the North of England. Lou Carr (see below)

LOU CARR

and Tommy Brown were two who were both good riders who won replicas and enjoyed a number of years participation.

We also had Eddie Johnson and his family who lived opposite to us when we lived in North Shields

He was a Tynesider and a founder member of the very successful North East Motor Cycle Racing Club. Eddie’s first Isle of Man appearance was in the 1958 MGP on an AJS followed by TT rides from 1962 to 1972. Eddie passed away from a heart attack after cycling with friends in January aged 79. (from TTRA)

We supported one rider who was coming good and who beat Geoff Duke on a couple of occasions......This was Chris Horn from Whitley Bay and my father helped him to participate. We were over in 1951 and Dad was very involved with the northern club which was Chriss entrant.
