People often ask me that if I had the chance to turn back the clock, which years would I re-visit
Well, I have picked out only a few from my 70 years involvement and here they are:
One particular year stands out and it has to be 1960, one year after Honda came for their first time. I had visited them at their HQ in 1959 and had struck up a sort of friendship with some of the riders because I had made the effort to learn a few words in Japanese which helped a great deal...
So when they re-appeared in 1960 I was able to renew my acquaintance and get into to see the magic 250-4s and sat and watched the mechanics work on these machines and generally got involved.
In 2009 I met Naomi Taniguchi after a gap of many years...We still knew each other and it was nice to chat to him again ..
